I’m running late and behind schedule today. Ack! So sorry.
Teaser Tuesdays are a book meme hosted by Should be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This Tuesday I’m reading Magic Slays, the latest in the Kate Daniel’s series by Ilona Andrews. Here’s my teaser:
A blond head popped over the side of the bed, and a familiar male voice asked, “Are you okay down there?”
Also, here’s the full blurb:
Plagued by a war between magic and technology, Atlanta has never been so deadly. Good thing Kate Daniels is on the job.
Kate Daniels may have quit the Order of Merciful Aid, but she’s still knee-deep in paranormal problems. Or she would be if she could get someone to hire her. Starting her own business has been more challenging than she thought it would be—now that the Order is disparaging her good name, and many potential clients are afraid of getting on the bad side of the Beast Lord, who just happens to be Kate’s mate.
So when Atlanta’s premier Master of the Dead calls to ask for help with a vampire on the loose, Kate leaps at the chance of some paying work. Turns out this is not an isolated incident, and Kate needs to get to the bottom of it—fast, or the city and everyone dear to her might pay the ultimate price . . .
Welcome to Friday Finds! The idea is to share the books you’ve discovered over the last week.
- Hexed by Ilona Andrews (I read it for Ilona Andrews…)
- Deadline by Mira Grant (zombies!)
The Newsflesh books are amazing. The first book, Feed, left me crying and shell shocked. I’m partly terrified to read this book, which is probably why I’ve been averaging a chapter a day because even though it’s exciting – I’m scared of what might happen next and who might die… The Kate Daniels books (Hexed has a novella in that series) are another series that I’ve been excited about. This was a very good book week!
Well, that’s my Friday Find. What are you reading?
